dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to explore the factors that have led to the most African countries lag behind in terms of development despite numerous resources and manpower. Also the study focused on the effects and influence of developed countries on Africa social, political and economic development especially during the cold war period. The immense influence that the United States of America and western powers has on African countries on one side championing capitalism and on the other side the influence of Russian and other communist allies have on Africa states being a point of focus. en_US
