Evaluating The Use Of Ict Tools In Supply Chain Management Among Public Institutions. A Case Of Maasai Mara University

Abstract

The study will be about evaluating the use of ICT tools in supply chain management at Maasai Mara University. The study noted that despite the advancement made in the area of ict and procurement, many institutions especially the public have not adopted to the use of the various system to enhance their performance. This study aimed at evaluating the use of ICT tools in enhancing the procurement process and hence performance of the universities with reference to Maasai Mara university. The research was based on the following specific objectives ; to determining how Enterprise Resource Planning affect efficiency of supply chain performance, to determining how Material Requirement Planning facilitate its operations for efficient performance, to determining how Radio Frequency Identification improves inventory flow for easy supply chain performance and to determining how Electronic Data Interchange exchange essential information necessary for effective supply chain. The study used a case study design to obtain in-depth information about the topic. The target population of the study will constitute all the 50 employees of Maasai mara university, from the department of finance, procurement and ICT department. A questionnaire will be used to collect data. A census will be used because the population is not large. Data was summarized, sorted, edited and analyzed using statistical packages for social scientists. Descriptive statistics of frequency and percentages was used . The findings were presented using tables and charts . the study findings will be beneficial to the university management and other stakeholders.
