dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of government expenditure on productivity of health care workers. The research questions were: Do Human capital investments in the Health sector have any effect on productivity of health care workers? and Do Technological investments in the health sector have any effect on productivity of Health care workers? This study utilized descriptive research design. Nairobi county was the area of study. The study used secondary data. Productivity was measured in terms of the number of outpatient and inpatients served in hospitals under Nairobi county. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the data to produce descriptive statistics. F-test was used to test the significance of the overall model, while significance of each variable was tested using T-test. The findings revealed that human capital investment has a significant influence on productivity of HCW. The findings also revealed that there’s a direct relationship between Human capital investment and HCW productivity. Technological investment was also found to have a significant influence on HCW productivity and there’s a direct relationship between them. This study recommends that Governments, both national and county, should invest more in technology, since it more than doubles the productivity of HCW. They should also invest in human capital since it has a direct relationship with productivity of HCW. This study did not include all investments on health sector and a further study is recommended to include other investments such as fixed capital and physical capital’s effect on productivity of HCW. en_US
