Abstract:
The study examines analysis of factors causing youth unemployment in Ndaragwa central ward.
Youth unemployment is a global problem that affect the life of most young people who are not
absorbed in the labour market due lack of qualification. The researcher intends to collect data
and information from youth groups in Ndaragwa central ward. The researcher collected
information from thirty youth groups located in Ndaragwa central ward. The literature review
provided the researcher with the background of the information about the topic under
investigation. The research was carried out to identify whether skills acquired by the youth, lack
of capital and lack of interest in agriculture causes youth unemployment in the region. The data
was collected and analyzed using spss program and presented in simple table and bar graph
which are easier to interpret and understand.Descripitive statistics was used in the analysis of
data, descriptive statistics is a method of collecting information through interviewing or
administering of questionnaires to a certain sample group. The target population was youth who
belong to thirty youth group in the Ndaragwa central ward. Each youth group had two
respondents making a total of sixty respondents. The data collected was analyzed and presented
by use of tables, pie charts and graphs so as to make interpretation easier and give a clear picture
of the findings. From the data collected and analyzed a conclusion was made and whether the
skill mismatch lack of capital and lack of interest in agriculture causes youth unemployment was
known later after the collection of data.
