Abstract:
In availability of production and marketing knowledge of soya beans has made it impossible for farmers to realize income from growing of soybeans. Malava Sub County has good fertile soils that can be a substitute to sugarcane and maize whose production is on the decline. The study sought to find out ways of improving the profitability of soya beans right from production stage to the marketing stage. The study found out how to improve the existing production methods, the extent of farmers’ access to extension services and the marketing techniques used by soybean farmers. The study targeted all soybean farmers within the sub county. Simple random sampling was used to select a predetermined sample size, the instruments that were used included observation, questionnaires and oral interview. The data collected was analyzed using statistical packages for social scientist (SPSS).
