Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of performance appraisal on employee productivity in saving and credit cooperative organization in Kenya a case study of Narok Teachers SACCO .this was guided by the following objectives to establish the effect of performance appraisal criteria used in Narok Teachers SACCO on the employee productivity ,to determine the effect of performance appraisal feedback used in Narok Teachers SACCO on employee productivity and to determine the relationship between frequency of appraisal in Narok Teachers SACCO and employee productivity .the research instruments used were questionnares and interview schedules .the target population for this study consisted of 72 employees of Narrk Teachers SACCO .stratified random sampling will be used to select a sample size of 50 respondents .the data was analyzed both qualitatively and presented by use of charts and bar graphs .the study finding showed that performance appraisal leads to increase performance in an organization and also anables employees to know their strength and weakness at work .Finaly ,the study findings showed that performance appraisal helps to reduce industrial disputes ,increase the efficiency and effectiveness at work and makes it easy to introduce change the study recommended that promotion and salary increment should be applied by the organization as reward for hardworking employees ,training and seminars should be used to equip employees with more new skills and knowledge and number of directors should be increased to provide enough guideline at work.
