Online Hotel Reservation System

Abstract

The adoption of Online Room Reservation by commercial enterprises has been in existence since the mid-90s, much greater in number due to lower operating costs associated with it. Online Room Reservation has initially been in the form of VISA cards and telephone transactions. More recently, it has been transformed by the Internet, a new delivery channel for hotel industry services that benefits both customers and staff Online room re ervation facilitie includes viewing rooms, choo ing room making payments, obtaining such services like laundry, ambulance, tour riding among others. The OTSYENO' S ABC LEISURE RESORT ONLINE RESERVATION SYSTEM was developed following system development stages for smooth running and management ofOTSYENO'S ABC LEISURE RESORT. The two Semesters provided by the University's Computer department enabled me recognize and define the problem in the current manual system at the Leisure Resort.

Furthermore, customer's application for online booking facilities is expanding as the cost savings on transactions over the Internet are significant. After an information gathering process from several hotels managed by manual and computerized systems, I saw that the Leisure Resort indeed needed a computerized management system. After a close analysis of samples collected during the problem definition stage I found that all the hardware and software requirements needed for implementation and maintenance of the system are readily available in the market and cheaply affordable by the Leisure Resort. The system was carefully designed to ensure maximum efficiency of the system at the Leisure Resort. The system was skillfully and carefully coded to seal any possible loopholes in the system. The system was developed using Eclipse application using PHP language. This system will indeed help the hotel management and the esteemed staff members to manage and steer the hotel's functionality and transactions to realize its maximum potential in addition to its competence in the Leisure Resorts business field.
