dc.description.abstract The mission of the student information system SIS project is to create an integrated information technology environment for students, HOD, faculty, staff, parents and administration. The goal is to focus on customers, services and integration for end users. Student information system web-based self-service environment for students, prospective students and employees; an administrative transaction processing environment for university/secondary/primary staff to contact day-to-day business; an information environment for all levels of faculty and staff to do reporting, data extraction and information analysis. A student information system is a software application for educational establishment to manage student data. SIS provide capabilities for entering marks and other assessment scores, building student schedules, tracking student attendance, and managing many other student-related data needs in a school, college or university. The easy -to-use, integrated school administration are proven to reduce time spent on administrative tasks so you can concentrate on raising student achievement. SIS has to accept process and generate reports accurately and at any point of time any user can get the student information. Back end of the system was designed by using MySQL as a repository. Also, front end was designed by using HTML with CSS and PHP server side scripting language in the implementation of the system. However, JavaScript was involved for interactivity of the system. Furthermore, in developing the student information system, incremental methodology and three¬tier architecture were depended. Finally, the system was tested according to one of the black box testing types which was system testing en_US
