Good records management will promote efficient and effective public services in ways such as ensuring regulatory compliance, curb corruption, support making of informed decisions by providing timely and sufficient information and promoting accountability among others. The aim of this study was to assess record management practices at the Nairobi City County Government with specific references to Central Registry and how records management supports delivery of good public services. The study investigated the types of records created in central registry and also investigated on the challenges facing records management in Nairobi City County Government. The study used a case study and was quantitative in nature and it used questionnaires and interview schedules as instruments of collecting data. Questionnaires were the key data collection tools that were used but they were supplemented by interviews. The data was analyzed and presented by use of graphs, pie-charts and statistical tables. Conclusion and recommendations were drawn after conducting the study and the researcher recommended the best possible solutions to these problems. |
