The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of child abuse to pre-school children’s performance. The study was guided by the research objectives. The study employed an explanatory descriptive study design. The target sample was drawn from teachers and parents of Lenana primary school. The researcher used the simple sampling method in order to get the exact number of respondents. The main data collection methods were the questionnaire and interview schedules. The interview schedules were used to collect the quantitative data, while the questionnaires were used to obtain the qualitative data. Data obtained was presented in graphs, charts, tables and percentages after which simple statistical techniques were used to analyze the data. The findings and research recommendations of the study can enable teachers and parents of Lenana primary school and other pre-school in Kenya to come up with ways that can be used to help pre-school children suffering from child abuse to improve their academic performance |
