Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to tackle the security issues of electronic record in the Kenya
Judiciary System and come up with realistic mechanisms and measures to solve the challenge. A discussion of the Kenya Judiciary System is highlighted giving its component which are the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court Magistrate Courts, Kadhis’ Court and finally the Specialized Court and Tribunals. IT in the Judiciary is also captured in this work together with the record management in the Judiciary. The paper has also shown how record management has been integrated with case management system. The statement of the problem is that there are a lot of security issues facing the judiciary in managing it e-record and also many people are behind bar who are innocent but the victims of the same. Purpose of the study was to come up with the proper approach toward the security of the records. The second chapter gives the literature review which has captured both the theoretical and conceptual frameworks of the research. The research design was a case study and a sampling procedure was used taking a sample size of 25. Data collection procedures included u e of questionnaires, observation, interviews and document analysis. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and MS Excel package. The last chapter, chapter five, brings the research work into a conclusion by presenting the summary of the entire project followed by a conclusion and then recommendation .
