Abstract:
Urban green spaces have long been integral to urban planning, offering a vital connection between city
dwellers and the natural world. Sustainable development and urban well-being are increasingly influenced
by policies and laws governing these green spaces. While some nations, like Singapore and England, have
achieved notable success through stringent policies and effective implementation, others, such as Poland
and Colombia, face challenges in coordination and enforcement. Africa confronts unique hurdles, from
outdated regulations to bureaucratic delays. This paper assesses the effectiveness of urban green space
policies and laws in slum areas, with a focus on Dandora, Kenya
